Different Types of Alarm Clocks

An alarm clock is what most people wake up to in the mornings. A bed side alarm is a fixture that gives out the ring in monotone everyday at the same time and forces us out of bed to rush to the office. Though most useful things, still none of like this piece of fixture and at the same time cannot do without it.

Until a few years ago we used to have the old type grandfather clocks and alarm clocks with bells and manually operated keys. These have now become antiques and have long since been replaced with radio clocks. Thanks to advancement of technology, the radio clocks have become very useful gadgets with additional features.

Radio clocks have now enables us to wake up to nice music tunes instead of the blaring alarm sounds. We often use them to remind us to tune into the radio and listen to our favorite program. Many people use them to remind them of the upcoming schedules and appointments too.

Radio clocks run on battery or electricity. They have a disadvantage to the extent that in a power out situation, the clock like any other digital device shuts down and when turned on resets the time to zero and starts from this point. You might in that case miss out on the alarm especially if you have been banking on the morning alarm to get up early.

You can quite easily overcome this situation by ensuring that your clock has a battery back up and when the power is out, the battery works keeping the clock on time. You can continue to get the alarm at the right time.

Now a days musical equipments like iPods and CD Music players come with digital alarm clocks, eliminating the need for you to buy the alarm clock separately. More over with an iPod, you can listen to music anywhere as well as use the alarm clock wherever you are.

When you switch on any gadget you get the see the blinking of LED Display of the alarm clock. This contains a lot more features, special one being the snooze facility.

Now you can set the snooze to your requirement and also use extended snooze option. More over you do not have to get up every time you want to use the clock to set the snooze or alarm, you can do so with the remote control.
