The Reebok Stadium will be the venue of Liverpool's second match after their change of ownership, as the Reds take on Bolton Wanderers in their bid to bank full points and move up the table, away from the relegation mine in which they are mired.
Roy Hodgson's side have been poor travellers thus far this season and have just two goals on the road, both coming in the 3-2 loss to Manchester United. Though the squad recorded a win in match week nine, that came at Anfield; the Merseysiders will aim to get that elusive away win on Sunday.
SEASON 3 PREMIERE
However, that win came after three successive losses, and the Merseysiders are still in the process of finding their feet after the recent management wrangles at Anfield. The Wanderers who are riding high in eighth place in the Premier League table will be hoping to take advantage. Bolton will look to striker Johan Elmander to lead the charge against Hodgson's men.
Bolton are on an unbeaten streak of five matches, and particularly at the Reebok Stadium, Owen Coyle's charges have been hard to beat; their last loss at this ground came six months ago in April. That said, Liverpool haven't lost to Bolton at the Reebok in the last four years. In fact, the last seven meetings between the sides have ended in victory for the Liverpudlians. Last season's match at the Reebok ended 3-2 in the Reds' favour. The Merseysiders won the game at Anfield 2-0.
Ahead of the Sunday encounter, Roy Hodgson is buoyed by signs of Torres' return to form. The Spaniard struck the match winner against Blackburn in match week nine, only his second of the season. Torrres underwent a knee operation six months ago and has been slow to regain his form.
Bolton have a few injury concerns ahead of Sunday's match against the Reds. His thigh injury will keep Ricardo Gardner out of the match; Jlloyd Samuel has a calf problem; Sean Davis is sidelined with a knee injury, as is Joey O'Brien, while Andy O'Brien's ankle injury is yet to heal.
For Liverpool, Dirk Kuyt's ankle injury will keep him from playing against Bolton.
Bolton are likely to field the following men in the match against Liverpool:
Jaaskelainen, Cahill, Steinsson, Robinson, Knight, Holden, Lee, Petrov, Muamba, K Davies, Elmander.
The following players are likely to be in Liverpool's first eleven for the game on Sunday: Reina, Kyrgiakos, Carragher, Konchesky, Skrtel, Meireles, Lucas, Gerrard, Maxi, Cole, Torres.
