Review the Contribution of Jackie Robinson

From the very beginning, you will see that the black community is being exploited and tortured by the white community in America. The condition of African American community was very pitiable. They were helpless in the hands of the so called upper graded class of the white community. They were deprived of the right to expression and right to lead the qualitative lifestyle like other white colored persons. Jackie Robinson was the eminent baseball player who made his debut by participating in the baseball tournament representing the black community.

Earlier, the baseball was restricted to the white colored persons in America and no African American was allowed to play the game with the white colored American Nationals. It was very amazing and also real in true sense of terms. In 1947, Jackie Robinson appeared as a public image by participating in the baseball tournament and he earned appreciation and recognition for his contribution to the sports arena. It is the fact that American history is loaded with the painful incidents of racial segregation, color distinction, injustice to the black community. Therefore the sudden entry of Jackie Robinson rekindled ray of hope at the corners of lips of the black community people. They felt very proud of his brilliant contribution to the area of sports. If you check his performance record, you will find that Robinson has played total 151 games so far. He was the master in performing excellently. He was conferred on the prestigious accolade, first rookie of the year. He joined the team of Dodgers and assisted the team to win the World Series in the year of 1955.

The tragic episode began when Robinson was denied to sit with his white colored team mates in a bench at the stadium. His co-players claimed that Robinson should be disqualified from the team because of his dark complexion. The racial segregation was very active during this period. The team manager advised the players not to raise any hot issues like the racial segregation or the color distinction in the team. The situation went out of the hand when Robinson participated in a baseball game which was held in Cincinnati Ohio.

The fans and the spectators started abusing Robinson by venting their spleen on him as he was a black player. They used provocative language to lower the prestige and honor of this legendary player. However, Pee Wee Reese was very good player and he supported Robinson. He requested the spectators to stop abusing and settled the matter peacefully as Robinson was one of the players of the team. Robinson always tried to follow the ideology of Dr. King Luther and he frankly pointed out that his whole life had been reserved for the upgradation of the black community.
